Luke Littler`S First Televised World Series Event Will Now Come At The Dutch Masters
It has been confirmed that Luke Littler’s World Series debut will not be broadcast live on television.
The 16-year-old teenage sensation grabbed the attention of the British public earlier this month when he stormed into the final of the PDC World Darts Championship on his tournament debut.
Littler failed in the final, losing 7-4 to world number one Luke Humphries in a match watched by a record 4.
8 million viewers.
The Warrington prodigy has quickly become arguably the biggest name in darts, despite only receiving his PDC Tour card for the first time this year.
However, it remains clear that Littler’s debut match at the Bahrain World Series of Darts will not be shown on television.
The event will be held on his Thursday, January 17th and will end on Friday.
Instead, it was moved to ITVX, an on-demand streaming service for ITV shows.
Instead, reruns of Downton Abbey and Heartbeat will be broadcast on his ITV3.
ITV3 saw his final episode in 2010.
Meanwhile, ITV4 will be broadcasting Snooker’s World Cup Grand Prix.
The Bahrain Masters will feature eight of his PDC players and his eight Asian representatives, including Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright, and will be played in a 16-man tournament.
The show will be headlined by Filipino Lawrence Ilagan, who lost in the first round of the world championship last month.
Littler’s first televised World Series tournament will be the Dutch Masters.
The competition begins on January 26th and will be broadcast on ITV4.
